Carrickfergus Harbour Festival 2010

The Carrickfergus Chamber of Commerce and Trade in association with the Northern Ireland Hospice and supported by Carrickfergus Borough Council is staging the first ever Harbour Festival in Carrickfergus. This will be an annual event and the aim is to make it into one of the best-loved and most diverse festivals in Ireland - and one of the biggest free events in the country.

With iconic Carrickfergus castle as a backdrop and the annual Lughnasa fair, the historic town harbour will be alive with circus acts, historical characters, face painting, jousting on the green, dragon boat racing, children's entertainment speciality food & craft stalls and folk music for this fabulous one day spectacle.

Carrickfergus Harbour Festival 2010 will involve the whole community with family fun activities that will see Carrickfergus buzzing - there will be something for everyone, circus entertainers will amaze the crowds with their skills and creativity, exotic foods will delight with the flavour of diverse cultures and dragon boat racing will marry the maritime theme with the colour and vibrancy of China.
